Is the VR30 twin-turbo in the Q50 reliable?
Yes, the VR30DDTT is a well-regarded engine when maintained correctly. The key is using the correct Infiniti-specified oil and staying on top of change intervals. Turbocharged engines run hotter and oil degrades faster - extended intervals are harder on the VR30 than on a naturally aspirated engine. With proper maintenance the VR30 is a durable unit.
