What are the most common Honda repairs in Nassau County?
The most common Honda repairs we handle at Broadway Servicenter are CVT fluid service on newer Civic, CR-V, and HR-V models, timing belt replacement on V6 Accord and Odyssey (due at 105,000 miles), AC compressor failure on older Accord and Civic, and automatic transmission issues on 2001-2004 Accords. Regular maintenance prevents the majority of expensive Honda repairs.
Does the Honda Accord need a timing belt or timing chain?
It depends on the year and engine. Honda Accord four-cylinders from 2003 onward use a timing chain - no replacement needed on a normal schedule. The V6 Accord uses a timing belt that must be replaced at 105,000 miles. Missing this service on a V6 Accord is expensive - it's an interference engine, meaning belt failure causes internal engine damage. We check this on every Accord that comes through the shop.
How often does a Honda CVT need fluid service?
Honda recommends CVT fluid replacement every 30,000 to 45,000 miles under normal driving conditions, but in Nassau County stop-and-go traffic and highway driving we suggest every 30,000 miles. Fresh CVT fluid significantly extends transmission life on Civic, HR-V, CR-V, and Insight models with the CVT. Neglecting this service is the leading cause of premature CVT failure on Hondas.
